top RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests focused many facets of microbial ecology. During my PhD, I studied the involvement of horizontal gene transfers (HGT) in the adaptation and evolution of bacteria to their environments with a particular look to the transforming effect of lightning-mediated electrical conditions. During the last few years, I’ve also investigated the genetic potential of environmental bacteria with metagenomic approaches. And more recently, I went into the study of horizontal gene transfer between transgenic plants and soil bacteria.
