RESEARCH INTERESTS
I am studying many facets of life sciences: During my PhD, I studied the interactions between soil microorganisms and most of the dominant macrofaunna in savanna soil: the soil termite. During the last few years, I’m also focusing on diversities of genes conferring particular traits to microorganisms. Resistance to heavy metal, like Nickel, is the best example of adaptation process of soil microorganisms. The capture of certain of these traits is greatly helped by horizontal gene transfer. I’m focusing on HGT to understand genetic adaptation of phytopathogen bacterium : Rastonia solanacearum. And more recently, I’m interested to genetic diversity of soil microorganisms at the level of population and communities in a Geo-statistic context. |
