RESEARCH INTERESTS
Since starting my scientific carrier, my research has been focused mainly on two different domains: (1) Plant biology and resources via a Master Degree and a 6 months study on the Douglas fir cold hardiness carried out in British Columbia at the University of Victoria, and (2) microbiology with my current PhD work at the Environmental Microbial Genomics Group. These two domains may seem far apart, but are not if considered from an ecological point of view, thus explaining my future research perspectives. I would like to merge the knowledge gathered in each domain in order to study relationship between plant and micro-organism and how there are shaping each other in the light of evolution. Multidisciplinary approaches are difficult to address, especially if they aim for the very edge of science. This is the path I choose as I think we need people working at interfaces and creating connections between different domains in order to go even deeper in our understanding.
